We arrived in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday and stayed in the laceName w:st="on">RexlaceName> laceName w:st="on">HotellaceName>. It was wonderful and the staff was very gracious. We had native fruits in our room and yummy chocolates. Three of the couples (us included) all got massages at the hotel. For a one hour massage was $6 American dollars! The massages were soooo good. They are not like us where they ‘set the mood’ they just want to work your body hard! They sat on us, stood on us, walked down our bodies and popped Adam’s back.

After the massages all the couples fell asleep about 6:00pm, that was as long as we could stay up due to the time change. The food is very yummy, but we have to be very careful and make good choices- no chicken (birdflu) and no water, ice cubes or homemade juices.

We woke up and drove 8 hours to Ninh Thuan. We went to our beautiful hotel, The Saigon Ninh Chu, it is on the beach (@50 yards) and we have a view from our room. It is defiantly the most remote place we have ever been too. No American food, no American money and no one speaks English.

We left the hotel to go and visit our babies in the orphanage. It is a beautiful and sad place. The caretakers are very sensitive and friendly. They love the children. Many of the children do have special needs and there is no air-conditioning and no doors so the children have lots of bug bites. The thing that made me the saddest was that the back of the children’s heads are flat. This is from lying down so much. Some are worse than others, ranging from Avi Joys which is on its way to getting flat to some children whose head goes from their neck straight up, so sad. So Grandma Cleo you have permission to hold her all the time and rub, rub, rub that head back into shape.  : )

We were the last couple to be brought our baby, we did cry on the way into the orphanage, but by the time we saw her, we just hugged and kissed her and tickled her so much she just giggled and giggled, it was the absolutely the sweetest thing. A great great first start.

We left and went back to the hotel and ate a fantastic dinner and went swimming by moonlight, the water was like a bath and the ocean was perfect and it was so quiet.          Tomorrow we adopt them in court.

Some friends of mine took a traveling-for-the-kids approach to adoption. They turned their blog into a book. It's absolutely magical. You guys should look into it!
