We have had a busy day… We had a meeting with our social workers at 7:30 this morning. We discussed all our plans for the day. (We now have compassion on families trying to get baby’s dressed and ready (and ourselves too) this early. Half the families are sick with the v & d and some of the baby’s weren’t feeling great either, so we took awhile to arrive.)

First, all the men went to pick up our baby’s passports. Then we headed to our immigration interview. Each couple had to go into this cold blue room with this lady and she asked us questions like, have you been bribed in this country, how long was your adoption process, was Dillon (our agency) fair and respectable and what kind of care were the children getting in the orphanage. After the interview (we all passed) we went to the hospital for our children’s medical exam.

Avi Joy weighs 14 lbs and is a healthy little girl. We all waited and waited, all the children in one room and they were not happy. Once we were on our way home, they settled down. Now I am in the room, she is fed and sleeping between my legs.

The men are now gone to the airport to buy us tickets to Hanoi. We are going to leave Friday afternoon and have the weekend free to site-see. We have several outings planned such as going to Ha Long Bay (a floating city) and the tunnels (from the Vietnam war.)

We have told you already about their obsession with babies here and many times as we are out, the women will point to Avi Joy’s strawberry birthmark. It is on the side of her chin and you can see it in pictures we have posted. They always point it out and say something in Vietnamese and smile. We did not know what it was until today when two people (2 different times) said in English that her red birthmark is a sign of being rich and happy. They all say she is very ‘beautiful baby’ which to any parent makes your heart sing.

Thank you Heather S. for the teething tablets, they are awesome! We don’t see any teeth coming in but she has all the signs, so we still don’t know… new parents, we’ll figure it out. Also Heather she loves her Dr. Brown’s bottle! Wonderful bottle!

Tonight we are going to have KFC for dinner. They say it is like ours but spicier. Everyone is ready to settle in for the evening, we may watch a movie tonight; they were selling dvd’s for $1 at the market, Adam bought 15 movies for us so I think we are set!

Every time we read, amazing scriptures pop out and make us smile, so fitting for our journey,

“For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100:5

“The Lord’s love is with those who fear Him, and His righteousness with their children’s children.” Psalm 103:17

xoxo

Missing you guys a lot! You sound like you are having the best time...except for the teething (no fun)! I just started another bible study...Daniel--Beth Moore's latest (I couldn't resist because it's my favorite book of the bible). Daniel chapter 2 is about the Babylonian (think of that as Arab country now) king's dream that disturbed him. He threatened to kill his magicians, socerers, astrologers, and enchanters if they didn't tell him what his dream WAS and what it meant. Of course, they couldn't. But Daniel and his friends prayed vigilantly..vs 18 "he urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery"...vs 19 "during the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision." When Daniel approached the king, the king asked him...vs 26 "Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it? Daniel replied, No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, BUT THERE IS A GOD IN HEAVEN WHO REVEALS MYSTERIES!" (It's not in bold in the bible but it's profound to those who are perishing.) There is a God in heaven. Daniel was a Hebrew in a foreign nation and he was there to announce to this pagan nation, there is a God in heaven! Awesome, huh? I love you...have a great day!

I like your style, the fact that your site is a little bit different makes it so interesting, I get fed up of seeing same-old-same-old all of the time. I've just stumbled this page for you
