Day 21

Avi Joy turned 5 months on the 23rd this month! What a big girl. She asked us for a cell phone, we said no. She will be rolling over very soon; we have been practicing that and sitting up as well. Her favorite game is ‘roll and scream.’ This is where we lay her down, she rolls over to her belly, gets stuck, then screams. The game is to do this and repeat! She will flash you a thank you smile that makes it all worth it.
She is still not feeling well even after the antibiotics. She sounds like she has whooping cough or something, its very sad. Hopefully American soil will make her feel better. She has had 3 blowout diapers this week because of the med’s she was on and she threw-up today for the first time too, out the nostrils! Its been real!
We mainly stayed in today and rested. I started repacking all our things, its been neat to see all the things we got throughout Vietnam. Each city and village had something special to offer and we tried to get something from each place we went to that was specifically from that area. We bought a little dress for Avi Joy that the Sapa villagers made. It is so unique, we think we will put her in it when we get off the plane. It’s not super girly or anything, but it is a design and pattern all the people wore in that village. So be looking out for her Sapa dress on Friday.
We have our exit interview tomorrow at 2:30pm. Please pray that everything goes perfectly. We know that it will, but nothing is ever final until we arrive home. They seem to always add the phrase ‘hopefully no problems’ to the end of everything. Yeah, she’s ours buddy, don’t give me ‘hopefully no problems!’ We will let you know how it goes, No Problems, Lord!!!
We had an Italian dinner with the Homans tonight. We are thinking of writing down some things to bring to Vietnam (if you’re traveling) and things we should not have brought. We are going to record the best places we went, things we saw and the must-dos while you are here.
We are also thinking of having a Roast for each person. We got to know one another pretty well and if it is all done in good humor it could help us go home laughing.
Have a beautiful day!
