We have been home with Avi Joy for 10 weeks. This season has been so fun for us as a family… both Adam and I celebrated our birthdays, Thanksgiving and of course Christmas is coming up. We have a lot of family that lives out of town and have been blessed to go to two family reunions and show off our precious gift. She can light up a room, as all children do!

Avi Joy is doing wonderful. She loves kisses, being rocked, ripping up magazines, pulling on daddy’s beard, scooting in her walker, listening to praise & worship music, she loves splashing in the bathtub, she can sit-up and has her ears pierced. She loves our two dogs, they walk by and she starts giggling. Her favorite toys are her mini-tambourine, her sounds of sesame street press-it toy and her duckie (which was her first toy we brought to Vietnam.) All toys that you somehow move or shake, we think she’s going to like music.

She is such a good eater, loving everything we have tried. As soon as we started on real baby foods her hair just started to grow and her skin color began to glow- it’s amazing what some good food can do to a girl. She is 7 months and weighs 18 lbs.

We have posted lots of new pictures of her- go to the photo area and check them out- soooo cute! My favorite is her in her hot pink Ao Doi outfit sitting on her elbows. It melts my heart.

I have enjoyed reading others blogs who are adopting from Vietnam or who are already in-country. It is my Saturday morning thing to do… I can feel what they are going through, my heart sings when I remember my time there. I love looking at everyones pictures of their kiddo’s and cannot wait to adopt again. I am trying to hold out, I know we will have to wait awhile, but I would love it if Avi Joy and her sibiling were only a couple of years apart.

My girlfriend told me the other day how to make God laugh… she said, Tell Him your plans! So, in saying that, we will see what our Gracious Lord has in store for the Perryman family. But one thing is for sure, I know other children are placed way down in our hearts, it just a matter of His perfect timing.

We hope you are doing well and see God’s blessings in your life. Thank you for following along in our journey. Talk to you soon! Love, The Perrymans
